The Artist Loft Bedroom Reveal!

Before & After, DIY PROJECT

I have been waiting for the moment that I could finally start hanging art at the Loft project. Thankfully, that day is here!!! If you follow along on my @ispydiy IG Stories, you know that I have been thrifting and buying a bunch of art for the last few months with this space in mind. Since the ceilings are so tall, I knew this canopy bed from Ikea would fit the space well. Once the bed was in place, next was filling the open walls with art!!

This is truly a one-of-a-kind house. If you missed the full story of the property, the walls are actually made of concrete (read more about that here) so I had to be really sure about my art placement. We had to use a hammer drill to put in concrete anchors for each frame. To see the process, check out the LOFT BEDROOM highlight on my instagram. My initial plan was to put art all around the bed, but once I stacked the left side, it felt complete. I just added a small trio to the right side and let the space above the canopy breathe.

I’ve also been collecting trunks and suitcases in my Workshop, knowing that someday they would find a place in the Loft. I had my eye on that lower, plaid one for a while and finally decided it was a must. The colors in that trunk pull everything in the room together, and it plays so well with the other patterns. Just for fun, I stacked another suitcase on top, and the combo makes me so darn happy! It’s the perfect base for the gallery wall.

On the other side of the bed, I used a thrifted table I had stored in the workshop. It fit perfectly! Don’t you just love when that happens? Next, I added a few more pieces of art above and below the wicker sconce. I love the eclectic vibe! The art pieces that did not make the gallery are just leaning up against the wall to give it that artist loft vibe. I may use them elsewhere in the house eventually, but for now, here they stay.

Since the walls are all white and the art is pretty neutral, I wanted to bring some color in with the bedding. This bronze velvet quilt was a different choice for me, and I absolutely love it with the blue pinstripe wool blanket and the striped sheets. I really want to play with pattern in this home! All the bedding is from The Company Store, and it’s absolutely stunning and high quality.

The collection of butterflies hanging on the ribbon is one of my all time favorite thrifted finds!

This space is at the end of the hallway with the built-in. I was excited to style up a little corner of the shelves to give you a peek. We’ve painted the built-in Muted Sage, and I promise to share more details when I finish it and style it up! And yep, you’ll recognize this rug from our Barnhouse, but it was always intended for the Loft, so it made its way back here — (plus our naughty puppy, Odie, started scratching at it!) I can’t wait to host our first guests in this home in 2022!!

It’s all so lovely. Is the blue blanket that’s on the foot of the bed from The Company Store also?
