I SPY INSPIRATION | Stairway Runner

Hope you all had an amazing 4th of July! For those who entered the giveaway last week, check back here for the winner. I have been on a home decor pinning extravaganza (stop by ISPYDIY on Pinerest, I am almost at 100K followers!). And one thing that keeps popping up is these amazing carpet runners. I am in love with how they warm up wooden stairs, and add some style to a sometimes overlooked area of the home. I am thinking this would be a great DIY project, now I just need a second story with some stairs to try it out. In the meantime I’ll be collecting patterned runners in anticipation!

I really want to rip up the carpet on my stairs, paint them and put down a runner… But that’s a huge project and a potential can of worms. (with two little kids during the summer… Yeeesh!)
I hope you find some nearby stairs! I love the second from the bottom but (at least in my house – again little kids) I think it would get filthy. But oh so pretty!

I do agree with all of the ideas you’ve presented in your post. They’re really convincing and will definitely work. Still, the posts are very short for starters. Could you please extend them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.
