I have to admit, one of my favorite yearly announcements is the Pantone Color of the Year! I love hearing the trending hue, and see how it works its way into home decor. This year’s pick: Greenery. It’s an interesting choice for me because I LOVE incorporating plants into everything: styled shoots, room makeovers, DIY projects, but very rarely do I actually use items that are the color green. Art.com challenged me to design a space incorporating the Pantone Color of the Year, so I thought I would give it a whirl, and see if I could come up with something that I loved. Art.com has a ton of fabulous greenery prints on their site, and I fell in love with these plant prints immediately, and thought they would be a perfect trio for an entryway. The plan was to start with black and white pieces and then add a few pops of green decor, and a couple plants including two of my favorites, a fiddle leaf fig tree and a little succulent. I love how it turned out, and am surprised to say, I am a fan of using (a little) Greenery! What do you all think? Will you be adding more green into your decor?

I have been playing around with the entryway of the studio, and love the idea of adding a big hanging mirror! In true Jenni style, I bought multiple options: an oversized circle one, a thrifted hexagon one and a smaller wood one…but I can’t decide which one to put up. So I poked around the internet to find a little inspiration and there were SO MANY amazing ideas I had to share. The plan is to style up a couple different options and let you all pick your fave. Stay tuned. And in the meantime get inspired by these!

This week I took my “liitle” nephew back-to-school shopping for his first day of…college, what?! My little buddy is all grow up. It’s has been a couple…well maybe more than a couple…years since I was in college, and I totally forgot how fun shopping for all your school gear is, although I make have gone overboard with my nephew. My goal was for him to come up with a signature style and statement pieces…he is a 19-year-old dude, so just wanted to get a backpack big enough to hold his books and some sneakers *eye roll*.
With all the college talk, it got me thinking about dorm room design, and about how if I knew everything I knew know, I would have the most decorated and DIY tricked out room at college. Since organization is key in a small space, I love the idea of incorporating wall grid into a homework station. It’s stylish and functional. I bought some a while back, and I think it time to set it up and deck it out in in supplies! Stay tuned.
