Eggplant Chalk Paint Dresser Makeover for The Drew Barrymore Show!

DIY PROJECT

This week I gave this dresser a makeover for The Drew Barrymore Show! She challenged me to do a budget friendly makeover in just a few hours. So I grabbed some chalk paint, in a rich eggplant color, and transformed it. All the details are after the break, and watch the segment here!

First, I painted it with this Eggplant Chalk Paint, in the color Vignette . You can get all my tips for Chalk/Milk painting here!

I add vintage-looking Antique Brass Handles in place of the wood pulls that came with the dresser. You can get a pack of 10 for $20.

I lined the inside of the drawers with wallpaper! More on the wallpaper soon 🙂

I painted the legs with a gold leafing paint, or you can use Rub n’ Buff to get a metal look! Just tape off the area you want to paint to get a clean line.

Super fun experience being on the show! Let me know if you have any questions!

I just found your blog via Pinterest and I love it! And now I see you have Airbnbs in Milwaukee. I’m just outside of Chicago and am now thinking of booking a trip to Milwaukee with hubby (he’s never been to Milwaukee) just so we can stay in your Airbnb.

I’m curious why chalkboard paint as opposed to regular matte paint. It is absolutely stunning though! That color is fantastic!
