DIY INSPIRATION | LIVE EDGE WOOD

Home Inspiration, INSPIRATIONS

After I made this coffee table out of a slab of wood last year, I became a little obsessed with the look live edge wood. I love how it can break up the straight lines and bring a natural element into a space. My local Habitat for Humanity works with a nearby “farm”, The Urban Wood Lab, to re-purpose trees cut down in the area. They slice the tree vertically, plain and dry out giant live edge pieces for craftsman (and DIYers) to make tables, cabinets, countertop, floors…anything you can image.  I’ve already bought two 9 foot slabs for more projects.  Stay tuned to see what I make!
