Charcoal Bungalow | Bedroom Floral Refresh

Room Makeovers

Before we welcomed our new tenants to the Charcoal Bungalow, we gave the Main Bedroom a mini makeover! We have exciting plans to do some major upgrades in the future (replace the carpet with laminate flooring, paint, add decorative trim) but for now some new bedding and a refresh on Mr. Yolo’s DIY headboard.

New Additions

Storage in older homes can be tricky. The closets in the Bungalow are on the small side, and I thought this Lowell Wardrobe was a beautiful solution. This is also a great alternative to a dresser for long-term guests. Eventually when we switch this property from long term rental back to an AirBnB this can be used for extra linen storage.

Cottage Vibes

I am fully embracing the floral trend in the room and layering Floral Sheets with this Chenille Comforter.
This is definitely a new, more feminine style for me, but it definitely works with the cottage vibes of the house. Eventually, I’d like to paint this room and maybe add chair rail like the Purple Room or a half-painted wall like the Ship Room. Plus, that will give me an excuse to rehang the curtain rod wider to make that window look bigger!

New Old Headboard

This headboard is actually a DIY project Mr. Yolo did years ago. He was inspired by this project of mine (but added his own twist on it). Before this refresh, the wood was stained a bunch of different colors. To update it Mr. Yolo sanded it and stained all the pieces this unifying Dark Walnut. We’re really happy with the results. It looks completely new to the space!
