My First Real Christmas Tree!
OUTFIT-FASHION, Outfits
After so many years of apartment living, it’s pretty darn exciting to be able to have a real Christmas tree in my own home, so it felt right document the momentous occasion! My puppy Griffin and I (plus a very handsome tree holder and his pup) headed out to the tree farm in Poplar Creek, Wisconsin to pick out my first real one the day after Thanksgiving. We didn’t have any snow, actually it was quite warm, so I stayed cozy in my new beanie and olive booties, and the boys were festive in buffalo plaid. Don’t let that angel face below fool you, Griff was a pouting pre-teen the whole morning and rolled in coyote poo mid tree hunt…yuuuuuup. But I can’t stay mad at my sweet pup.

More after the break…
I got the tree up (it only tipped over once!) and now am working on decorating. Whenever I moved apartments, decorations where the first thing to get left behind, so I am starting from scratch. Our family tree growing up had all homemade ornaments, so it seems a little odd to go out and buy all new ones… I am taking my time and finding/making ones that I love, and it will hopefully be complete by Chirstmas! Oh, and I posted about this sweater on Instagram and a bunch of you got it immediately, which I fully support because it is SO COMFY! So now the big question: Are you team Real or Fake Xmas Tree??

Team real tree! This is our first year not living in the country. Every year prior we’d take the tree outside a few days after Christmas, chop it up and have a bon fire. Kids love it, complete with hot chocolate and mashmallows. The ashes would go into the compost and into the garden in the spring.
This year I think we’re going to get a table top tree and plant it in the spring.
I am team, real Christmas tree when kids are young. After they are gone, I go fake. Guess you would call me a real/fake!
???
Love these photos! The tree looks so wonderful!

Love those little white trees with gold bases you have on your bookcase. Where did you get them?
How I miss the smell of a real Christmas tree … I’ve only got artificial ones for the last at least five years. Hope you are enjoying making all those hand made ournaments, that sounds realy nice
