MY DIY | Wooden Holiday Trees
DIY PROJECT, Holiday DIY
It’s time to start decorating for the holidays! This year I want to go super modern and sleek with my decorations. I saw a display of wooden triangle trees last year and wanted to create that same look for my apartment, and accent it with some fun holiday decor. I used a couple kinds of wood: precut “V’s” from the craft store, triangles I cut with my miter saw, and I repurposed the triangle shelves I made last year. With a quick spray of Krylon® SUPERMAXXX® All-In-One Metallic Finish in Silver and COVERMAXX® in Matte White and Metallic Gold, I had a super chic forest with metallic accents! Also a little bonus: Use as a jewelry holder when giving a gift or a display for your own jewelry after the holidays!
What you need:
Wooden Triangle/Wooden “V”
Painters Tape
Krylon SUPERMAXX All-In-One Metallic Finish in Silver
Krylon COVERMAXX in Gold Metallic
Krylon COVERMAXX in Bright White
(You can pick up these Krylon products at your local Walmart.)
What to do:
First, cut out your triangles with a saw, or use precut wooden “V’s”
Next, tape off the top 3/4 of the triangle.
Spray the top of the triangle and be sure to follow the directions on the back of the can. Let the triangles dry about 20 minutes and then remove the tape.
Display!
