MY DIY | Thrifted Sidetable Makeover
DIY PROJECT, Home DIY
The sitting area makeover is underway, and I am starting to inject some of the ideas from my inspiration post into the space. The goal is to add a little more color and quirk, mixing new, thrifted and DIY pieces. I’ve purchased a few things off my list using my Membership Rewards® from American Express, but was even more stoked when I found out I could use my points for DIY supplies from my favorites spots like Home Depot and Amazon.com…serious game changer. I posted about this side table I thirfted a couple weeks ago, and finally decided on a design. I started by painting the whole table white, then added an accent of yellow on the inside. Next up was the design on the doors, I mulled it over for a while, and ended up with some simple black accent stripes so I could leave the doors open a crack to see the color without getting too busy. Next up was the knobs…oh the knobs. Everyone who came into the office had to weigh in on their knob pick: colorful? black and white patterned? metallic? Turquoise won out in the end, playing nicely off the color of the chair, but the major plus is that you can switch them out at anytime. I love how the side table turned out! I often go into projects without too much planning, but ordering the supplies online gave me a much needed moment to come up with a painting gameplan I could be super happy with. Next up, is deciding if this couch will get a DIY makeover and find a home in the sitting area, or if I am going to splurge on a more modern one. Stay tuned!
I was selected by American Express to help educate consumers about how to use Membership Rewards points. As such I was paid for my services, but all items selected and opinions about the Membership Rewards are my own.
