MY DIY | Himmeli Triangle Succulent Holder
DIY PROJECT, Home DIY
Happy Friday! Today’s DIY came about because I was attempting to declutter and found a giant stash of brass tubing from my last himmeli project, and I just happen to have 80 succulents who need homes, so combined they created the perfect display! I started by figuring out how to make one pyramid, and just continued making more and more to stack creating super cool, intricate looking shapes. Once you get the process to make one down, it’s easy to crank out a million in no time flat. Don’t you think these would make the cutest place card holders or centerpieces for your next dinner party?!? Steps and supplies after the break…
What you need:
Brass Round tubing 1/8″, 12″ long
20 gauge Wire
Pliers
What to do (to make the basic pyramid):
First, use your wire cutting pliers to cut 6 pieces of tubing equal in size (after pinching the tubing use the flat nose pliers to reopen the end)
Next, thread your wire through 3 tubes, leaving double the amount of excess sticking out each side. If your tube length is 3in, leave a little more than 6in sticking out each side.
Bend to create the bottom triangle, and twist the loose ends of wire together to make the base.
Then, thread the two ends through one pieces of tubing and then split the wires, threading each through the last two tubes.
Bend over the “Y” shape to complete the pyramid. Wrap the loose wire ends around each corner and snip off the excess.
To create the succulent holder, make a more narrow pyramid, then create another triangle base, and place over the top of the pyramid, then rest a small pot or shot-glass inside the triangle (something that tapers at the bottom works best.)
