A while back I was lucky enough to travel to Raleigh to tour HGTV’s Smart Home, which was such a crazy cool experience. The home they are giving away this year (make sure to enter here) was beautifully designed by HGTV Design Star Season 8 winner, Tiffany Brooks, and decked out in the latest in technology. It was so interesting chatting with Tiffany about her design process for each room, and how she did not shy away from color and pattern (how cool is the kitchen tile!) As I’m decorating more spaces lately, I have been finding that picking color combinations is quite the undertaking. Creating a cohesive color story when painting each room can be tricky. In the Smart Home they used HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams paint, and the magic is, you pick a Color Collection, and all the paint colors in that collection work with one another. Cool, right? That way you do not have to worry about warm and bright color tones clashing, or some hues being too vibrant or not vibrant enough. I wanted to give the HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams Neutral Nuance Color Collection used in the Smart Home a try to see how the colors worked with each other, so I picked 4 and gave my storage shelf a makeover. I have to say, I love how all the colors complement one another, and each color was rich with just one coat. It gave me way more confidence to tackle a living space!
