I am back with another room makeover today! This was such a fun one 🙂 My client, Lori, found me through Pinterest after spotting her friend in the nursery design I did last year. Lori and family moved into a new house a few months back and were looking to update a bunch of the rooms, starting with the playroom. We started here because they were having 30+ people over for the holidays and wanted to have a place for the kids to play. A lot of the design and color scheme was based off this super cute teepee she had already purchased, and then we played up the camp vibe, and amped up the color!

We started by painting the entire room white to lighten up the space, and then followed this tutorial to paint the mountains. I ended up running back to the paint store 3 times to get the perfect blue, the last time I packed up the teepee and took it with me and had them color match it, ha! Next up was storage, we needed a lot for all the toys, and I loved the idea of turning these cube storage units on their side so everything was easy to access.

On the other side of the room, I hand-painted a trio of 6 foot oars (tutorial here) and hung them, which was a fun way to fill a big wall in an inexpensive way! Affordable pillows from Amazon gave a new life to a couch that was already in the room.  Next up, we hung four prints from my friend’s camp inspired shop, Roo Kee Roo. I had actually been holding on to these for a few years, waiting for the perfect space to hang them, and am beyond happy they found the best home!
