Last year my siblings and I got a brand new bike for my Mom, she takes ride everyday and her old one was barely functioning, so she was elated to get the gift. We thought it would be a fun idea to surprise her with flowers this year, but instead of an ordinary vase, we are going to create a bouquet in her bike basket. She loves flowers (who doesn’t!), so this will be a perfect way to combine her two favorite things. We based the flowers on the design of Hallmark‘s “Happy You Day” card from their Studio Ink collection. The poppy colors were the perfect inspiration for the arrangement. We started by putting two canisters in the basket to hold water for the flowers and keep them standing upright. Then I added a base of greens. Next, fill in all your colorful flowers, and finish with a few buds sticking up throughout so it continues to bloom! The canisters can be taken out of the basket so my Mom can set the bouquets on her kitchen counter and enjoy for her entire week. I can’t wait to see the looks on her face when she sees her birthday bike! Check out how we created the bouquet in the video below, and steps after the break!
