After so many years of apartment living, it’s pretty darn exciting to be able to have a real Christmas tree in my own home, so it felt right document the momentous occasion! My puppy Griffin and I (plus a very handsome tree holder and his pup) headed out to the tree farm in Poplar Creek, Wisconsin to pick out my first real one the day after Thanksgiving. We didn’t have any snow, actually it was quite warm, so I stayed cozy in my new beanie and olive booties, and the boys were festive in buffalo plaid. Don’t let that angel face below fool you, Griff was a pouting pre-teen the whole morning and rolled in coyote poo mid tree hunt…yuuuuuup. But I can’t stay mad at my sweet pup.

Since it’s the dead of winter, my wardrobe has been pretty dull covered by a giant parka, when my favorite beverage asked me to play dress up in outfits styled with their new colorful IT’S MINE Diet Coke bottles, my answer was yes, yes, YES! The crazy cool part is that every 12oz glass bottle has a different design, we are talkin’ millions of unique designs (only available for a limited time). I just happen to love this bottle with black and white and pops of color, surprise surprise, right? I styled a few of my favorite spring dress shapes, A-line, Shirtdress, and Maxi, to bring out the colors and design of the season’s ultimate must-have, my Diet Coke IT’S MINE bottle. I am picturing a warm weather stroll or a garden party, sun shining, Diet Coke in hand…
SHIRT DRESS – This shape can sometimes be a little difficult for me to pull off without looking frumpy, but the key is to synch the waist with a belt or tie that gives the dress shape. Also, I rolled up the sleeves and left the bottom unbuttoned a bit to show off some leg so the stripe pattern was not too overwhelming.
Outfit: Dress, bag, shoes, bracelet, scarf, lomography camera
A-LINE – This is my all time favorite dress shape! I love how it defines a waist and flares making your legs look great. Dress it down with wellies or sneakers, dress it up with a pair of pumps and a blazer.
OUTFIT: Dress (similar), rainboots, scarf, floral clutch, vintage sunglasses, DIY notebook, umbrella, lomography camera
MAXI – If anyone is having a garden party, I have the perfect dress and would love to be invited! This was the only dress hanging on the rack, and it just happened to be my size and I could not say no. Everyone at the store was asking if I had an event to wear it too…nope…but it would be pretty fabulous to go grocery shopping in!
