Barnhouse | Balcony Oasis

Room Makeovers

Welcome to my new peaceful coffee corner on our balcony! This little space hasn’t been used much since we rehabbed the Barnhouse 3ish years ago, mostly because we still had to finish straining it. Located right off our main bedroom, I decided to sit out there and drink my morning coffee the other day. The sun was shining and it was so beautiful to sit up there and watch the neighborhood wake up.

I knew instantly that we had to finish the staining and create a little seating area. After a little snow delay we got to work and the whole thing came together faster than I anticipated. Since we completed it this is now my favorite spot at the house. Sipping coffee up there and listening to the birds chirping and the bustle of the city, this was such an untapped gem!

My Secret Oasis

This set up is all from the Better Homes and Gardens outdoor line. After lounging on it for a few days, I am happy to report this loveseat/pouf convo is a win for comfort. It was important to keep everything feeling light and inviting up here and I think adding the pillows and rug really made this space cozy. I thought this little tray table that tucks under the sofa would be perfect for a cup of coffee. I’m looking forward to more slow mornings up here, sipping coffee while I prepare for the day.

Green Thumb

This space wouldn’t be complete without some life and greenery. I look forward to watching them grow this summer, and our pup (can you spot him?) is excited for some shade. I’ve included links for all the planters, outdoor pillows and rug below. I am so happy with how they helped to pull this space together. If you are looking for 20 seconds of zen out here, head to my IG @ispydiy. Where do you enjoy your morning coffee? Try to carve out a special space of your own, trust me you won’t regret it!

This looks amazing! I’ve been wanting to restain and repair my deck to do something similar to this. I would love to create my own space for a reading nook or something like that on our deck. Thanks for sharing!
