I can’t believe its been a year and a half since Mr Yolo left his full-time gig and joined ISpyDIY to renovate properties full time. It’s been an amazing journey. But, renovating rental properties is a ton of work! After gutting three, I’ll admit that it’s nice to sit back and watch renovations from afar, ha! These are just a few of my favorite IG accounts who have renovated homes and turned them into beautiful properties that you can visit! Since all our short-term rental businesses took a hit recently, I figured now was the perfect time to spread the love to some of my favorite short-term rentals. Since the world is starting to open up again, now is a great time to pack up the whole family and head out on a long weekend.

The first of my favorite Airbnbs is called The Treehouse! Located 80 miles outside Chicago in Southwestern Michigan, Kim and Scott’s lakeside retreat offers the cozy relaxation we’ve all been needing during 2020. These two are SO FUN to follow on IG, and there posts are so informational. They quit their full time gigs to blog full-time, and raise their little girl, which is a story near to my heart. They are currently working on one heck of duplex renovation; a must follow!

Catherine and Bryan are both husband and wife and design partners! Their four Airbnb locations in Columbus, Ohio range from historic townhomes to eclectic escapes that will leave you speechless. There before & afters are unbelievable!! And I love that they renovate with their little girl in tow. I see a roadtrip in our future!

Jenna Sue and her husband renovate homes like nobody’s business! I love following her DIY projects and rehabs. Her Riverside Retreat is a forest green oasis in the middle of Tampa Bay, Florida. Close to downtown and the beach, this home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a massive backyard and even a hanging chair. This couple also just decided to blog and renovate full-time while raising their baby girl…I see a pattern here!

If you are thinking of quitting your full-time job to renovate/mange rental properties, Cathy has some info packed posts! Her and her husband do beautiful DIY renovation work. They just transitioned their short-term rental in Seattle to a long-term, but they have another home renovation in the works, and fingers crossed it’s an Airbnb, because Seattle is on our family’s must-visit list!

This last one isn’t available… yet! Melissa of The Faux Martha is currently renovating a gorgeous “chalet-frame,” meaning the house is a mixture of a chalet and an A-frame. In the north-woods of Minnesota, it’s a place to get away from life, bake some bread, and enjoy quality time with the people you love. I’m already dreaming about a family vacation here.

I Spy Abode
Located in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point, this home has 3 bedrooms, two baths and a dog-friendly policy! Originally renovated for an HGTV pilot, this house was my first baby. I’m so proud of the work I put in, and I know you’ll enjoy spending some quality time with your family in this space. It’s also available for photoshoots, and we started hosting Mini-monies (wedding with 20 or so people) in the backyard! Rent it here!
DIY Duplex
With the option to rent the upper, the lower, or the whole house, this property accommodates up to 12 guests, perfect for Girl’s Weekends! A gorgeous backyard makes for great group dinners, and a brand new tub offers total relaxation. Rent it here!
Bayview Bungalow
Lastly, our Bayview Bungalow is within walking distance to great coffee shops and restaurants. Three beds is plenty of space for a couples getaway or a long weekend with the family. Grill out in the backyard, or make something special in the kitchen! Rent it here.
