414loral Flower Shop Reveal!
I was following along with @414loral‘s Instagram, when the duo behind the flowers, Mikel and Rebecca, announced they were opening a brick & mortar flower shop. I immediately reached out to ask how I could help with the design! Look at those stunning original tile floors! The space was already so beautiful, and they had a great vision for the space, so I put together some design mock-ups and off we went!
For the accent wall, we wanted to pull colors that complimented the tile floor. Mikel loves orange, so after some swatching, we landed on Behr Glazed Pot in a flat finish. The color is so beautiful! It’s a little darker than the terra-cotta pots, which is perfect for that tone-on-tone look. And the brass accents pop against the rich color. Storage was also key for the space, so Mr. Yolo and I built shelves so they could display all their vases. And the brass utility bar idea came from a DIY in our Airbnb!
The ladies wanted a little sitting area in the front for consultations, so I reached out to Better Homes & Gardens, and they were SO KIND to send over two of their Nola leather chairs! The Nola brass and glass side table, and velvet pillows (in Red, Emerald, and Sunset) are also from their product line at Walmart. I just love how this space came together, and am so thankful to have partners who support our work with women entrepreneurs in Milwaukee!
I didn’t have to go far for beautiful flowers 🙂
The entryway desk was the most amazing vintage find from another woman-owned business, Good Land Antiques. It fit PERFECTLY, and the back has a ton of cubbies for storage. I spotted it in the store, and thought it *might* work. Once Mr.Yolo and I rolled it in, we saw it was meant to be!
Thank you to Mikel and Rebecca for letting us be part of designing your space! Go, stop by the store, and pick up a bouquet! Follow along @414loral for Shop updates!
