MY DIY | Wire Basket Side Table

After scouring the internet for some inspiration and supplies, I found a quick and easy way to make a stylish wire side table for $30!  I am a little obsessed with B&W with a pop of color, but with different wood stains and spray paint colors, the options are unlimited for finding something that will work with your decor. I love how Oleander and Palm flipped the basket and did a stained wood top.  I am stoked with how it turned out, and it’s found a prefect home next to my couch in the studio! Step and supplies after the break…

What you need:
Wire basket
Round Wood (1in x 17in)
Spray Paint
White Wash Stain

What to do:
Paint wood with White wash stain, may take few coats. Let dry.
Spray paint the top of your basket yellow, pulling the can further away as you go down to create an ombre effect. Let dry.
Using E600 glue, attach the wire basket to the wood piece. Let dry. Done!

That looks so funky and so cool! Perfect for summer. I’d totally try it out, but probably outside as I’d definitely make a mess in the apartment. And this actually looks like something I could attempt, unlike most DIY!

  11. I’d love this table! But living in Europe I haven’t got any chance of getting my hands on that beautiful basket I’m afraid 🙁

  12. Veronica says:

Love this! You and Oleander and Palm must have been on the same brainwave this month! They just did this with the exact same basket but an 18 inch wood round. It’s cool to see a different method of adhering the round. And I love the pop of color!

Here’s O+P’s version if you’d like to see it:

What a great idea! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
    Best wishes!

  14. We love this kind of deco complements, and yellow is always nice!

  15. Brittany Bly says:

I love this! I think that readers could also try working with concrete for the tabletop surface and that concrete would look really cool with the ombre paint effect. Since this is a small table, readers could use a household object like a large round serving dish as the mold. So stylish and easy!

    1. Jenni says:

Ohhhh yes! That would look amazing!

  16. sharon says:

The table is so cool. Now it needs a cute lamp on it.

  17. Hannah says:

Such an awesome design hack!! Its so clever and stylish!

  18. Jess says:

This is such a great idea! I’m looking for new DIYs to spruce up my apartment and this is definitely one of them!
