MY DIY | Cutoff Jeans

Inspired by these denim on denim looks, I cut a pair of jeans to mirror my fave jorts! Deets after the break.

What you need:
Thrifted Jean shorts (mine were in the men section for $1)
Box cutter
Your favorite jean shorts to trace

What to do:
Lay down your thrifted jeans, and on top place your favorite denim shorts to trace. If you do not have a pair you love, follow these tips:
-Cut at an upward angle to the side seam
-Make the back dip down longer then the front
-Don’t cut the pockets, let let peek out
Next, start pulling the lose strings to create the frayed edges
Then, take you box cutter and slice a few lines in your shorts
Pull apart the slits
Tip: They get even better after a trip through the wash.
Pair light jeans with a dark denim top or vise versa to get the perfect denim-on-denim look!

I just shredded a pair of man jeans in just the same way. The best bit? They’ll get even more frayed and perfect after a trip through the wash.
