DAD’S DAY DIY | Chalkboard Spice Jars & Tie Wrapping
DIY PROJECT, Holiday DIY
Dad’s Day is coming up soon (set a reminder for Sunday, June 21st) so it’s time to get crafty and create a gift your Father will love! Since retiring, my Dad has become quite the chef, and Shrimp Scampi (heavy on the garlic) is his specialty #breathmintplease. I thought it would be the perfect gift to gather some spices for him to add to his next cooking endeavor…add on a couple DIY touches and some festive collar wrapping and you have the perfect gift for the guy who has enough ties to last him a lifetime! Steps and supplies after the break…
What you need:
Spice Jars
Spices
Chalk
Scissors
Gift Box
Solid Color Wrapping Paper
Patterned Wrapping Paper
Tissue Paper
Scotch® Chalkboard Tape
Scotch® GiftWrap Tape
Scotch® Magic™ Tape
What to do:
Step 1: Fill your spice jars with dad’s favorite spices.
Step 2: Cut a piece of Scotch® Chalkboard Tape that is long enough to fit around the circumference of the spice jar. Write the name of the spice on the Scotch® Chalkboard Tape for easy identification when dad’s grilling.
Step 3: Peel the back off the Chalkboard Tape and place it on your customized spice jar.
Step 4: To create the best Father’s Day gift wrapping ever, place the spice jars in a gift box and wrap it with white wrapping paper, using Scotch® GiftWrap Tape.
Step 5: Using your patterned wrapping paper, cut out a tie and fold the sides back to create some dimension.
Step 6: With the white paper, make two paper footballs that are the same size. These will become the collar of the shirt, and also double as a great Father’s Day activity with dad!
Step 7: Attach the tie and collars to the box using small rolls of Scotch® Magic™ Tape.
