MY DIY | Neon Rope & Chain Necklace

DIY PROJECT, Jewelry DIY

With a gloomy day outside yesterday, I decided to dip into my craft closet and make myself a new necklace. Neon was a must, and I had some leftover rope from this project, and I never have a shortage of chain and rhinestone. I started wrapping, and adding layers, ending up with a statement piece that was a perfect pair for my denim shirt!

I have to say that I made this one up along the way using the same technique of wrapping with string, adding on layers along the way.  It is the perfect piece to personalize and truly make it your own!

What You Need:
Two colors of rope
Neon String
White String
Chain
Rhinestone chain
Carabiner
Tape
Scissors
How To:
Starting 1/4 of the way down the blue rope, I tied on the neon string, the started weaving the through each chain link to attach to the blue rope.
Add the white rope to the chain by weaving with the white string
In just the middle, I attached the rhinestone by weaving between each stone with the green string
At each end I wrapped the two pieces of rope together with the green string, and knot. Then I wrapped them together a couple inches in. (you can secure knots with a dab of superglue.)
Fasten with a carabiner.
