MY DIY | Cheers Drink Tray

ispydiy_cheersplatter10ispydiy_cheersplatter7ispydiy_cheersplatter5ispydiy_cheersplatter2ispydiy_cheersplatterHappy Friday All! Whenever I am entertaining, I love to add a couple DIY projects into the mix to give my guests a little something to chat about. A good craft and a delicious Chambord cocktail (try one of these) always gets the convo going, adds a touch of luxe, and a little playfulness, to your party. I’ve had this hexagon tray for awhile now, and I was looking for a way to give it a makeover, and I thought using epoxy would be a perfect way to add a personal touch. I love a project like this because you can get as creative and quirky as you want! Add just about anything to your tray, then seal it in for eternity (no pressure!). I love how the string and sequins create a design with some dimension, and it would be fun to take in a step further and add photobooth pics and memorable trinkets…I think I just came up with the next present for your BFF. Steps and supplies after the break:

ispydiy_cheersplatter_stepsWhat you need:
Hexagon Tray with edges
16oz Crafting epoxy
Yarn or string
Sequin
Sharpie

What to do:
1. First draw your word on the tray with they sharpie, if you mess up, rub off with nail polish remover.
2. When you have your word exactly how you want on the tray, dab glue on the sharpie marks and cover them by tracing it with your yarn. Once the yarn is glued in place, let dry.
3. Next, glue the sequins or trinkets down in a scattered pattern, and let dry.
4. Mix they epoxy according to the directions on the box, and then pour into the tray. Place the tray on a flat surface, and let dry for 24 hours.  Serve up the cocktails! ispydiy_cheersplatter1ispydiy_cheersplatter8

I love the glasses – and the tray! And the cocktail – I need the cocktail recipe for my book club next weekend. The red & clear/white on top match my book perfectly, and who doesn’t like Chambord? Also – where did you get that tray? I’ve never seen one around like that. http://www.enchantinglyemily.com
