[DIY Inspiration] Frames

Uncategorised
(from Pinterest Home DIY board)
This weekend I did a little thrifting and came across a bunch of frames at a secondhand store, and instantly thought of the jewelry holders I’ve seen floating around Pinterest. With my DIY jewelry collection ever expanding, I thought this could be the perfect way to store them, while also putting each on display. It would also be a fun way to showcase the ridiculous amount of glasses I own. Or I love the idea of turning an oversized frame into a moodboard for project inspiration.
The questions is, do I leave the frames mismatched or give them a coat of gold spray paint for a uniformed look?

  4. I’ve seen this idea floating around for a while too – I wish I had more wall-space so I could try it out!

And to answer your question – I think if you’re going to group the frames and hang a few on the same wall, spray it up, but otherwise no need.

I think i would leave them the way they are, unless some are in really terrible shape. but make sure to seal them so paint isn’t flaking everywhere!

Do not paint them the same color. Variety is the spice of life.

The one with the golden frame is my favorite. So nice to do something else than just hanging your pictures on the wall.

I have several different sized old window-frames, that I use to make jewelry holders etc….For the jewelry holder frame, I sanded the window frame…knocked out the glass, then antiqued the newly painted frame by sanding and scraping it up a bit. I prefer to leave the original hardware. I then added interesting door pull-knobs of various sizes and colors. Hooks are also an interesting choice. I made one for my daughter and she loved it. I centered a crystal door knob at the top of the frame to hold long necklaces, then placed pretty door-pulls around the frame with a few interesting hooks to hold rings, bracelets, even a scarf. It now doubles as a magnificent piece of art-work!
