NEW YORK CITY INSTAGRAM TOUR | NOLITA
ETC
New York City’s Nolita (short for North of Little Italy) is quickly becoming my favorite area in the city. It’s amazing how so much goodness can be packed into just a few blocks! I get asked for NYC recommendations a lot, so I thought I would take a day to bop around this must-see area, and create a roundup for you all. If you are looking to explore the city on foot, I highly recommend heading to this action packed neighborhood. Make sure to fully charge your iPhone, because you will be non-stop clicking pics to Instagram. Some of the most beautifully designed restaurants are located here (the food is pretty great too ;), and each stop is steps away from some of the most snapped walls in the city. Get ready to eat, drink, shop and pose your day away (Thanks to Lydia Hudgens for taking endless photos along the way!) Here are my must stop spots:
Brunch:
The Egg Shop: 151 Elizabeth Street, New York, NY 10012 – Instagram: @eggshopnyc
The Butcher’s Daughter: 19 Kenmare St, New York, NY 10012 – Instagram: @butchersdaughternyc
Fuel up for the day with brunch at The Egg Shop or The Butcher’s Daughter, which shares my love of random pops of yellow. You truly can’t go wrong with anything on either of the menus, especially the unbeatable avocado toast at The Egg Shop. Make sure to grab a coffee ahead of time because there is always a guaranteed wait at both.
Art Walls:
Heart Mural: 30 Prince Street, New York, NY 10012 – Instagram: @gilfnyc
#WhatLiftsYou: Corner of Kenmare Street and Mott Street – Instagram: @kelseymontagueart
While you are waiting for brunch, head over to the Kenmare St. and pose in front of the Kelsey Montague’s #whatliftsyou wings. After you eat, show your love for New York in front of the adorable heart mural by Gilf! on the corner by The Little Cupcake Bakeshop, but don’t forget to get yourself a treat while you’re there…
Lunch:
Seamore’s: 390 Broome Street, New York, NY 10013 – Instagram: @seamoresnyc
Bold statement: Seamore’s is my favorite restaurant in NYC #truth. Head here for lunch to avoid the dinner rush, and get the best light because your are going to want to Instagram every corner. The bar is gorgeous and the cocktails are equally beautiful and delicious. The black and white tiled wall above the kitchen is extraordinary, and the chef’s might even mug for a photo, if you ask nicely. You can’t go wrong with the fish tacos, which are ever rotating depending on the freshest catch. I can’t wait for my next trip back to try out more on the menu!
Shopping:
Bag-all: 219 Mott Street, New York, NY 10012 – Instagram: @bag_all
Stick With Me Sweets: 202A Mott St, New York, NY 10012 – Instagram: @swmsweets
The shopping in Nolita deserves an entire post of its own, but we wandered into a couple spots that I had to share. Bag-all is a must-see, the shop has walls and walls and walls of storage bags to fit any mood with fun images and sayings. If your sweet tooth is acting up, stop at Stick With Me Sweets and pick up some decadently delicious chocolates.
Dinner:
Freeman’s Restaurant: Off Irvington Street between Chrystie and the Bowery on the Lower East Side. – Instagram: @freemansrestaurant
When you’re in Freemans Alley and it seems like you’ve taken a wrong turn, keep going, at the end is Freemans Restaurant, my favorite hidden gem. The food is great and I love the super secret location! Bonus: there’s always graffiti lining the alley, like the #bleedingheart wall, so you’ll be able to take some pre-dinner snaps while you wait for your table! Yesterday’s outfit photos were also snapped in the ally!
Dessert:
Morgenstern’s Ice Cream: 2 Rivington Street, New York, NY 10002 – Instagram: @morgensternsnyc
For me, no day is complete without at least one scoop of ice cream and Morgenstern’s totally satisfies that craving. I recommend a scoop of their salted pretzel ice cream. Actual pretzels are mixed into the ice cream and it is beyond delicious. There are also rotating murals across the street, so stop by often to see the new art and taste all the amazing flavors!
