Last Summer, I showed you all my bathroom makeover here, and when I posted that I was thinking of redoing it on @ispydiy Instagram, a lot of you though I was crazy, but I wanted the bathroom to be a little calmer, plus the since the 125 year old walls are not straight, and the wallpaper had a couple gaps that were driving me insane! To fix that, I did a board and batten treatment on the lower part of the wall, tutorial here, and just wallpapered the top. I used Chasing Paper’s removable wallpaper, so the removing the old stuff was SUPER simple, it pealed right off. I picked the Botany print because it’s softer and felt super calming…read on for details or head to the end of the post for shopping credits!

I went back and forth on the color of the board and batten, I like this soft gray by Behr – Statuesque, but thought it might be too boring, so got a few samples of bolder grays, peaches and pinks, but all seemed to intense next to the hexagon floors and the white door trim. I should have trusted my first instinct because I ended up going back and getting at gallon of Statuesque, and I LOVE it! It’s hard to tell in the pictures, but it’s a little darker then the trim, which is Ultra White by HGTV for Sherwin Williams, and works beautifully with the clay background of the wallpaper and the gray floors.

Two updates in the room that I am SO HAPPY with are the little stool in the corner and the new art. The Tana stool is from Article and is just so beautiful. I actually ended up getting two more for the livingroom and added a wax and oil coat on them, but left the one in the bathroom au natural because I love the softer wood tone. And the art from Society 6 tied the whole bathroom together! I just love this one, called Bath, and the floral art, Spring, a few photos down, the colors were perfectly muted.

More images and sources after the break!

My guest room makeover is done…for now! Ha! It’s funny how when we were shooting the HGTV pilot, I was able to stage this entire house in a day, but now it takes me 2 months to makeover one room. I’m sure it’s because the pressure is off, and I am trying to put things I truly love in the space. For all those that were following the process of putting up the board & batten wall treatment on IG, stay tuned because I will be doing a tutorial in another post AND tomorrow I will be showing you the steps for the faux map drawer dresser. Today, you’ll get all the credits and steps for one of my favorite parts of the room, the barn wood ledge that I made with Minwax! Pretty sure I will restyle that shelf once a week, but I wanted to show you it’s current state…well actually I have restyled it since taking these pictures…but is a room ever really done?! Credit after each picture, if I miss anything, leave me a comment and I’ll get back to you with a source!

I had matching night stands, but wanted the room to feel a bit more eclectic, so switched them out for this little side table on one side, and a stump on the other (below). Since it’s a guest room, I was not too conserned with bedside storage.

First I had a desk in the space, but ultimately need more storage for off-season clothes, so gave a Target dresser a makeover to look like a map drawer (steps coming tomrw). I am super happy with how this corner of the room functions now. And I have a place to display the thrifted art I have been collecting!

And HOW BEAUTIFUL are these flowers! My friend Jamie from Sweven Floral arranged them for me and I wish I could freeze them in time!

SHOP | Colleen O’Connor landscape art – Amazon light switch – Schalge door handle – Hobby Lobby Throw – Coach cream purse – Sole Society bag
The room is tiny, but the ceiling is vaulted, to this wall is SUPER tall, and I thought it would be fun to have a big piece of art to show it off. I worked with Colleen O’Connor, and she cutomized this beautiful work of art for the room. She even used the wall color – BEHR Hostaleaf so it would tie together. I LOVE it!

I have been making a point to shop more at the amazing local boutiques popping up all over Milwaukee! The little pitcher and cup set are from Orange & Blue. You must stop in there!

SHOP | Similar World Market Mirror – Similar Wayfair Bed – World Market Sconce– Pottery from Local shops – Vintage art

I just love seeing the reflection of the art in the mirror when you walk in the room! And the wood I used as a shelf was such an amazing find. It’s an old piece of barnwood, full of nails and holes and so much character! And since the room is so small, I like that it did not stick out too far, and fit perfectly in the 6in brackets. Steps and supplies after the break…

Yay!! I am so excited to finally be sharing pictures of my guest bathroom! I have been doing bits and pieces since we renovated last year, and I am excited to be DONE, well…for now, ha! I went bold, super bold, and decided to wallpaper the whole darn thing. I FINALLY tried out removable wallpaper (so good!) and removable adhesive tile (crazy, right?). So it’s perfect for the person who loves to switch up their space often, and renters looking for a temporary change! And stay tuned, because tomorrow I am going to be posting a full tutorial on the tile backspash.

I fell in loooooove with this wallpaper, I was going back and forth about just doing one wall or everything, and I ended up just going for it! The process was easy with two people, and took 4ish hours to do my whole bathroom, and the only problem we ran into were my crocked walls. But with some finesse and strategically placed plants, we made it work! I just think it pairs perfectly with the tile, and even though it’s bold, the white space kept it from being overwhelming. And since it’s removable, the commitment level is low…perfect! The best thing is that Chasing Paper is printed in Milwaukee!!! I grabbed drinks with the founder, Elizabeth, and she is my new favorite person, I CAN NOT WAIT to keep on covering my walls with their beautiful product!

I never did a post on this bathroom after the HTGV pilot aired, because it was a little boring, and I knew I wanted to do something fun at some point. I remember the picking of the tile to be so stressful because I wanted a bold cement one, but the quick timing for the flip and budget left me with slim pickings. I found the oversized hexagon at the local Tile Shop, and got it for an insanely cheap deal, so I went with that and a subway tile with darker grout for the shower. Keeping it a simple base for bolder design choices down the road. Sidenote: White grout on a bathroom floor = bad idea!

Does anyone else have a song lyric that plays in their head over and over when they go in a room? This one was stuck in mine, so made it’s way onto the shelf, with all the other bathroom goodies…including the little containers I acquired from my last hotel stay 😉

I know some people don’t looooove a bathroom off the kitchen, but I love this little view. The little pop of greenery works perfectly with the rest of the space, and it makes me so happy to look in this direction when the sun is beaming in 🙂 I would love to hear what you all think about the makeover!! And if you have any other sourcing questions leave a question in the comments and I wall make sure to answer!
