MY DIY & GIVEAWAY | Side Stripe Trouser
DIY PROJECT, Fashion DIY

During Fashion Week, I saw side-striped pants on both the runway and the stylish folks attending the shows, and I was instantly inspired to transform a pair of my own trousers. With a trip to the craft store and my Rowenta iron, I created my own version in 15 minutes!
GIVEAWAY!
Added bonus: I will be giving away 2 Rowenta First Class Travel Irons so you can make your own pair of Racing-Strip Pants. These travel irons are seriously amazing, one comes with everywhere I go!
Follow these easy steps to be considered:
Step 2: Comment on Rowenta’s Giveaway post and share a Do-It-Yourself ironing tip
Supplies:
How to:
Cut a piece of ribbon a few inches longer then your pants.
Stick the adhesive side of the Heatbond to the ribbon, then iron the ribbon, adhering the bond to it.
Peel off the paper back of the Heatbond.
Next, lay the ribbon on your pants, adhesive-side down, leaving a couple inches of overhang on the top and bottom.
Iron ribbon onto your pants.
Lastly, fold over the excess and iron to the inside of your pants.
Since these pants have kind of a sporty vibe, I paired them with an oversize varsity sweater, then dressed it up with wedged boots and small bag. For an evening look, wear them with a white shirt, a black blazer, and heels. Get creative by trying new pants-color or ribbon-style combinations!

Thanks for the fun giveaway and a great post! My tip is to use a thin cotton towel when ironing dainty blouses when the risk of burning the item is high. I place it on top of the blouse and turn the steam on and then iron.

Super cute pants. Like it.
Great idea, would this work on any pair of trousers, or are some materials more suitable?!
Also, those boots are beautiful!
Love the stripes! Gotta try it myself 🙂
the way you put it up looks very sport chic.
i kind of like it!
Yay, it turned out great. I want one, really! Can I try it on my denim trousers? Thanks for your help!
My ironing tip is to always start with a low heat…you can always turn it up if needed. That way you don’t ruin your dainty fabrics :).
