A couple weekends ago, I had a great time cruising around with Joe Fresh in their Mobil Pop-up shop, stopping all around Manhattan and doing DIY denim distressing with some super fun customers! Considering the temps were reaching triple digits, I gave my pair of boyfriend jeans a much needed chop! The slouchy style created a great fitting cut-off, and I amped up some of the distressing already on the pair with a few tools from my DIY kit. I paired my new shorts with my favorite oversized DIYed denim jacket, and became an instant jean queen! And say Hi! to my BFF Nikki (who also is a Joe Fresh fanatic), because when two friends meet up and they are accidentally coordinating, you can’t help but snap a pic 🙂 A few of my favorite distressing techniques are after the break…

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a style post, but I had to share some of the denim I distressed last weekend at the Joe Fresh event! I have been searching for the right oversized denim jacket to cut the collar off of for a while now, then I spotted this one in the guys section! Size small was the fit I was looking for, and the right color denim for distressing. Sidenote: I officially have a million jean jackets now, but every one serves different purposes, for different outfits, anyone else with me on this?? After cutting off the collar, then pulling out all the loose threads and roughing up the denim with sandpaper, I had the perfect jacket to pair with my boyfriend jeans. Speaking of, I’ve finally found a pair of BF jeans that work for me, slouchy without looking way too baggy!
If you want to make your own this weekend and are in New York City, stop by the Joe Fresh truck on Saturday from 1:00-3:0o pm and come DIY distress denim with me! Follow @joefresh on twitter for the exact location of the pop-up shop!

August is somehow flying by! Even though the Summer is wrapping up, I am refusing to give up my distressed denim shorts. My favorite way to keep shorts in my outfit rotation into the Fall is dressing them up with a blazer and heels. I dig the contrast of the shredded shorts and the tailored blazer…a comfortable, yet put-together look. Last week, I wore Converse with this outfit to hop on a plane, and then threw on heels to go right to a dinner. As it gets a little colder, I pair of distressed BF jeans would be the perfect replacement, so time to start shredding!
