I am back from Florida! I extended my birthday weekend in Miami with my dude, and spent a few days with the parents in Ft. Myers. I decided to unplug for a few days and it was glorious! I did still take a million-and-one photos to share with you for your next trip to Miami. I have to give a major thanks to Sugar & Cloth for her city guide and hotel recommendation, The Thompson Hotel Miami was an absolute dream. The art deco decor was so chic. And the colors! Emoji heart eyes! The tiled floors, the carpet, the beach chairs and umbrellas are all perfectly coordinated in yellows, ocean teals, and blush pinks. Every detail was considered, and curated to be the cutest. The trip was super quick, we flew into Ft Myers to grab my parents car, and road-tripped there the next morning, and only stayed a night. But, we still got in a bunch of beach and pool time (padded lounging chairs and towels were included, which was honestly such a huge plus so we didn’t have to haul beach gear with us.) And everyone who worked there was ridiculously nice and helpful…ok I will stop gushing…but for real, stay there. We only had one night out, so hailed a cab to Bodega and grabbed a bunch of tacos, guacamole and churros with Nutella (so good!!) and then headed back to the “secret” bar in the back (which turn not-so-secret when a lined formed out the door). After a stroll down the Lincoln Road Mall, we stopped into the Delano for an overpriced drink that was totally worth it, the pool side bar in the back is quintessential Miami. From there we hopped down to the beach and popped into a few spots after a stroll by the water, and then back to the hotel for a night cap at Talde Miami Beach. Every stop was a winner, I just wish we had time to explore more places!

The next day, after some beach time, it was off to the Wynwood, the art district, to ogle over all the graffiti walls. It was a visual stimulation overload in the best way possible. The colors! The designs! I was truly in my happy place.
