If you’re anything like me, half of your morning makeup routine is actually spent searching for a brush or favorite lipstick. So when Glamour asked me for some DIY beauty storage ideas, I jumped at the chance to organize my vanity. With a few containers, my most used beauty supplies were finally organized on my counter and displayed on my mirror (cutting down prep time in major way). Head over to Glamour.com for more on the four ideas you can try at home!

I have made the brush holder, but I love it in this shape of a container instead of a box! Thank you for sharing this with all of us 🙂

The hair tie carabiner is genius!

i’ve currently emptied old candle jars and filled them with my makeup brushes and cotton buds, i think my next mission is to buy some carabiner for my hair bands. another good idea is using a dinner tray to keep jars, nail polishes and perfumes neat. not exactly ‘storage’ or particularly a DIY but it’s a good interior decoration!

using the carabiner for hairbands has been my secret, my daughter has soooo many. We actually have a 8″ carabiner we used to put her GS Swaps on for a 100th Anniversary of GS for the Rock the Mall event in Washington DC. She used colored hairbands with a tag attached as her “swap” and put them all on this hugh carabiner and when she wasn’t swapping with other scouts she just clipped it to her backpack loop. So much more efficient than carrying swaps in a ziplock baggie. Most traditional swaps have a safety pin on them and you pin them to your hat or lanyard. You know you can get larger ones in the tool department at walmart, they are about 5-6 ” and only 2.99 or 3.99. If you go to Babies R us or Bed Bath and Beyond you will see the “mommy clips” which is just a big carabiner with the trademark “mommy clip” wording printed on it and it is used to carry several bags on your stroller, but that is like 9.99, like I said just go to the hardware sectin and get on, plus they are fun colors, mommy clip is only in balck.
