[Book Party] New York at Coach

Uncategorised

Last week I had my first book party for the release of I Spy DIY Style, and I was truly overwhelmed by the fantastic turn out, and all the love and support you all have given me, my site and my book. Coach went above and beyond, throwing a bash complete with DIY cocktails and ice cream sandwiches, and craft corner to make your own tassel bookmarks. They outdid themselves.

I had a vision of feathers for my outfit, and stayed up the night before to sew this little ditty. I must say, I was crushing on the whimsical creation. I paired it with a leather jacket from highschool to keep my edge, and remember my roots. And of course I sported a Coach clutch and my “DIY is Rad” necklace, because, well, it is.
Thank you again to everyone who came out, to my amazing parents who made the trek to NY, and the team at Coach for the amazing event, you made a small town girl from Wisconsin very happy!
I can’t wait to take the book on the road starting tomrw and meet more of my readers and DIY fans. I will be posting an updated book party list tomrw, so check back and I hope to see you soon!

Party goers above: Bonnie from Flashes of Style, Christina from Trop Rouge, Cover model Kim from Eat.Sleep.Wear., Book Photographer Jamie Beck from From Me to You, Carrie from Carrie Hammer.

  10. Love your look! Can’t believe you sewed together this skirt – you have such talent! Also, I completely agree that oldies have to turn up every once in a while in an outfit. (I have a leather jacket from high school as well!)

  18. I love that skirt! Is there a DIY post about it somewhere on the blog? I’d love to make one myself!

I’ve just discovered your blog and I have been scrolling and reading and getting inspired for the last hour or so. It just makes me want to go out and start DIY-ing! Too bad I have exams after the holidays.. But when they’re over I’m going to start! The bow ring and necklace are two of my favorites, together with the feather garland and this skirt 😀

You have a new fan! I love your blog and your style. It’s great 🙂

    x Evi
