Time to start off the weekend with something sweet! Growing up in the Dairy State, there was no shortage of ice cream in the summer. Bike riding to the corner store for sweet treats was a daily occurrence and nothing was more exciting than hearing the ice cream truck rolling up the street. I would save up my dimes to buy my favorite: a chocolate chip ice cream sandwich. Bring on the sugar high!

Since visits from the ice cream truck are now few and far between, I thought it would be fun to make my own frozen treats. DIY ice cream has always been high on my to-do list, so getting an ice cream maker was a no brainer! Next up, I mixed a few ingredients together, including a secret one to really bring back my childhood memories: Coffee-Mate Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie flavored creamer. In no time I had homemade chocolate chip ice cream, ready to be scooped between to tiny cookies, and topped off with sprinkles creating ultimate childhood throwback. Recipe after the break!

What You Need:
Ice Cream Maker
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided ½ cup coarsely chopped
1 can sweetened condensed milk
¼ Coffee-mate Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Flavored Creamer
2½ chilled, evaporated milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Chocolate Chip Cookies

What You Do:
Combine ½ cup chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and Coffee-mate Chocolate Chip flavored creamer.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.
Remove from heat and refrigerate 2 hours.
Once chilled, chilled evaporated milk and vanilla extract into the mixture.
Start ice cream maker and pour in the mixture.
After about 15 minutes, add remaining ½ cup of chopped chocolate chips.
Continue to freeze the ice cream in the maker until desired consistency.
Once frozen, spoon ice cream between two chocolate chip cookies.
Roll in sprinkles and enjoy!

Although the Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie flavored creamer is my favorite, Coffee-mate’s nostalgic line of flavors such as Classic Vanilla or Caramel Macchiato flavored creamer might be one of yours. Check it out to indulge in your own memories!

Great, you let yourself sponsoring by a company, that pollutes the environment with plastics and is stealing drinking water.
