MY DIY | Chanel Inspired Graffiti Tote

DIY PROJECT, Fashion DIY

My friend Ed from Stencil1 sent me a few stencils awhile back, which were sitting in my craft closet just waiting to be used. As soon as the Chanel models hit the runway, I knew I had my inspiration. With a little spray paint and some leftover string and cord from friendship bracelet making, I whipped up a designer inspired DIY in no time! Steps after the break…

What You Need:
Tote
Spray Paint
Stencil (Stencil1 are my favorite, try their snakeskin one!)
Acrylic Paint
Paint brush

What To Do:
Lay your snake skin stencil down on your tote and spray your silver spraypaint, next add some yellow accents.
Then put your logo stencil in place, and fill in with white acrylic paint, then let dry.
Next, tie your cord onto your carabiner, then continue to knot. Then tie to the other carabiner.
Attach chain to both ends, and then clip on to you bag.

So, this is perfect. I just moved to Austin, TX where they don’t allow plastic bags at the checkouts. For example, when you buy groceries, you have to use recyclable totes (or perform a juggling act on the way to the car). I’m finding myself forgetting my dumb boring totes constantly, and having to buy new ones at the checkouts (which is becoming a problem because my coat closet is becoming a tote closet)… but if I could do something like THIS, maybe it would inspire me to remember such an awesome “accessory” haha.. thanks for the idea! “)
