MY DIY | Flower Crown

DIY PROJECT, Fashion DIY, Uncategorised

I could not help but get fully immersed in festival fashion while out in Cali for Coachella, and one item that was a must on that list was a flower crown. I was jazzed when all the ladies who were staying at the Free People house with me wanted to join in to DIY there own floral headpiece. We traded in the faux flowers I brought from New York for fresh ones from around the house and got to creating our own. I wanted to share the steps with you all just in time to make one for this weekend’s Coachella festivities, or for any spring day that needs a little brightening! Get creative with your color and flower choices, this was my final look that I paired with this dress and wore to the concert. Steps below!

What you need:
Thick Floral wire
Thin Floral wire
Wire cutters
Flowers

How to:
First I started by wrapping the thicker wire around my head to guage how big the crown should be. Then I doubled it and cut.
I created a circle, and then twisted the wire around itself
Next I trimmed the stems of my bigger flowers and stuck the ends between each twist
Next I added in the smaller flowers and held everything in place by wrapping the smaller wire around the crown and the flowers. Trim the excess wire.

This reminds me about what we were in Sweden during Midsummer – florals in the hair is always cute & stylish.
