We are constantly evolving the look of walls at the studio, and this time around wanted to celebrate the changing of seasons by giving a second life to a bunch of flowers that were wilting. I read awhile back that you can speed up the drying process by putting flowers in the microwave, and since I am a bit (ok, a lot) impatient, I wanted to give it a try! I am happy to report it was a success, and after a month, the flowers are still looking great. The was definitely some trial and error, figuring out which look the best dried. The brightest, thinest flowers that can lay flat worked great, and looked the best after a round in the microwave. Next up, arranging them in frames to create something lovely to give the wall above the couch a pop of color! I am also super excited to be partnering up with Command™ Brand to bring you a series of projects, because the damage-free hanging works PERFECTLY for the ever changing decor in the the studio. Steps and supplies after the break!

What you need:
White paper
Paper towels
Tile or weighted object
Microwave
Flowers
Clear magic tape
Command™ Décor White Frame Wall Tiles – this project used six

Note: Follow all Command™ Brand package instructions for proper surface cleaning and prep, adhesive strip placement and recommended weight claims.
What to do:
Step 1: Gather all materials and determine where you want to create the project. Clean all surfaces and allow to dry.
Step 2: Choose the flowers you plan to include in the gallery and prune them to fit within the frame. Fold a piece of paper in half and place your flowers within the fold.
Step 3: Fold a piece of paper towel in half and wrap it around the piece of computer paper containing the flowers.
Step 4: To speed up the drying process, stick the flowers wrapped in paper and paper towel into the microwave and place a weighted object – such as ceramic tile – on top. Heat for two minutes or until dried out.
Note: Exercise caution when removing the tile from the microwave as it will be hot!
Step 5: Arrange the dried flowers in the pattern or motif of your choice within the top layer of the Command™ Décor White Frame Wall Tile. Secure the flowers in place with a piece of clear magic tape. Repeat to fill the remaining frames.
Step 6: Following package instructions, mount the Command™ Décor White Frame Wall Tile and base to the wall. Repeat to mount the remaining frames. And check out the video below for a step-by-step for hanging your tiles!
