MY DIY | Chain Ankle Strap Flats

DIY PROJECT, Fashion DIY

After spotting these ballerina flats in a magazine, I went into my closet (both craft and clothing closet) and decided to whip up my own pair.

Supplies:
Chain
Rhinestone chain
E6000 glue
Ribbon
Scissors
Jumpring
Lobster clasp
Paintbrush

How To:
Measure a piece of chain that wraps around your ankle
Next brush glue on the top of your chain and adhere the rhinestone
Let dry
Next add the jumpring and lobster clasp
Cut a 3inch piece of ribbon
Fold over and glue the ends together, then glue the loop to the back of your shoe, let dry
Repeat on other shoe
Slip on shoe and fasten through loop

  1. Love this DIY (I appreciate your love affair with E6000 – it takes me back to my dancer rhinestone days!) Definitely trying this since I have been crushing on a pair of flats with a gold chain for a while now!

Love those flats! I normally don’t like ballet flats with a longer skirt, but these are an exception! The chain detail is fabulous.

These bejeweled ankle straps are to die for! I can easily incorporate the things I learned from the jewelry making classes of Dragonfly Designs (http://www.jewelrybydfly.com) in South San Francisco when doing these stunners! I think a multi-layer swarovski or freshwater pearl embellished chains will really look good on a simple strappy flat/heeled shoes! Great idea!
